Meryl Lynn Unger is a partner in the corporate department of Esanu Katsky Korins & Siger, LLP, a firm of thirty-three attorneys. Esanu Katsky Korins & Siger, LLP is a full-service New York law firm whose practice spans the areas of litigation, corporate and securities, tax, real estate, and lending law; and trusts and estates, matrimonial and family law. Meryl principally represents small and mid-sized companies and individual entrepreneurs in all aspects of their business and commercial transactions. She often acts as outside "in-house" counsel to her clients. Meryl's practice ranges from representing start-up companies to assisting clients in raising capital to mergers and acquisitions. Her practice also includes advising employers and senior executives on employment, compensation and severance arrangements.
She has been active in a broad range of professional and charitable organizations, as well as pro bono matters, relating to women. Meryl is general counsel to the New York Women's Agenda, a coalition of over ninety women's organizations in New York City, and she has served as an officer and director of the New York Women's Bar Association. Meryl received her law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1975 and graduated from Barnard College, cum laude in 1972. She also attended Bennington College and graduated from the American School of Paris. Meryl resides in Westchester County with her husband, Henry R. Kaufman, and their fifteen-year old daughter.
