Brooke Denihan Barrett
Co-Chief Executive Officer, DENIHAN HOSPITALITY GROUP (DHG)
As co-CEO of Denihan Hospitality Group (DHG), Brooke Denihan Barrett has helped lead the transformation of her family's 50-plus year old business from a small collection of New York City boutique hotels to a growing hospitality leader with two hotel brands, several independent boutique properties and top chef-driven restaurants in several cities.
Brooke brings a lifetime of hospitality management experience to DHG, currently a 1 billion dollar hospitality and investment company that was recently named one of the fastest growing 5000 companies by Inc. Magazine. Guiding the vision and direction for the company's entire portfolio, including The James and Affinia Hotels brands, a select group of independent luxury, boutique and affiliate hotels managed by DHG, as well as a number of renowned restaurants, Brooke also shares responsibility at the corporate level with co-CEO Patrick Denihan for leading the growth of DHG through acquisitions, partnerships, and management contracts.
Since 2006, Brooke has overseen more than $120 million in redevelopment projects of a number of properties in New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Responsible for all facets of hotel operations and corporate support functions for the numerous hotels and restaurants under DHG's ownership and management, from property renovations and design to sales, marketing, technology, training and development and more, she also maintains a strong presence in the individual performance of each hotel, working with general managers and corporate directors with a sharp focus on assessing profitability, market share and customer satisfaction.
A strategic "brand steward" with a keen eye for day-to-day detail, Brooke's expertise is tapped regularly for opinions and forecasted trends by thought leaders in the industry. A noted speaker and panelist at many high profile hospitality industry conferences, including the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show and the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, Brooke has also been the subject of numerous profiles and is regularly interviewed for and featured in leading media from the New York Times and National Real Estate Investor, to Lodging, Hotels, Hotel Business and more.
Brooke actively participates in major organizations as a board member, including the New York Hotel Association, Good Shepherd Services, and, most recently, with the Women Presidents Organization.
