Launches First Kansas City Chapter Forum For Accomplished Women Entrepreneurs Expands Kansas City, MO - The Women Presidents' Organization (WPO) will launch chapter number 80 in Kansas City on Wednesday March 5, increasing the WPO presence in Missouri to three chapters. The WPO is the premier organization for accomplished woman entrepreneurs grossing a minimum of $2 million in annual revenue ($1 million for a service-based business). Through the WPO, a diverse group of women presidents are able to tap into the collective wisdom of their peers and advance their business and personal success. Local WPO chapters are coordinated by a professional facilitator and meet monthly to share business expertise and experience in a confidential and collaborative setting. In ten years, the WPO membership has grown to over 1200 members strong in the United States, Canada, Peru and the UK. The rapid growth of the WPO is a reflection of the remarkable development of women-owned businesses throughout Missouri and across the country. As of 2006, there are an estimated 141,986 privately-held women-owned firms in Missouri, generating more than $23 billion in sales, and employing over 150,000 people.* "The new WPO presence in Missouri provides a resource and one of a kind peer learning opportunity for successful women entrepreneurs.
