Membership Criteria

The Women Presidents' Organization is an opportunity for top women business owners whose businesses are at the same level to meet and together drive business breakthroughs. Though there are many groups for women, there is little available to support women who have achieved this higher level of business growth. Important to these women are the alliances created among the participants in the group. It is a forum for CEOs who are often isolated and would like to develop relationships with peers who can serve as sounding boards and sources of ideas and strategies for growing their business (not unlike a board of directors). The group also expects members to take an active role in discussing other members businesses, and to share their expertise and experience.

Qualifications

To qualify, women must have an ownership interest in their business. At this time, we are not asking corporate division heads or employed presidents to join the organization since the peer group places significant importance on the experience of growing a business from the very beginning. Therefore, our target membership currently includes women who are presidents or CEO's of their own company and annually gross at least two million in revenues (if product based) or one million (if service based). Participants are added to existing or new chapters as determined by the Headquarters in consultation with the chapter facilitator.

The Women Presidents' Organization requires a completed application for enrollment and documentation of annual gross revenues. All prospective members are subject to the approval of the Headquarters. Membership in the Women Presidents' Organization requires that the applicant's company prove annual gross revenues for its most recent preceding fiscal year. For product-based businesses, annual revenues must exceed $2 million. For service-based businesses, annual revenues must exceed $1 million; however, if the company is a commission business that is dependent on contractual sales, the company must exceed annual gross contract revenues of $5 million. This criteria is based on an estimate of 20% of commissions yielding the $1,000,000 in revenue required for eligible service businesses.
